Description
Welcome to a different kind of associate veterinarian position—and a different kind of animal hospital. Passionate Paws Animal Hospital is a modern, all-digital, privately held (not corporate), Fear Free Certified, and integrative practice. We opened in late 2016 as the first hospital in the South Charlotte area to provide a truly comprehensive approach to pet healthcare. We began with just three employees and have grown into two locations—Waxhaw, North Carolina, and Weddington, North Carolina—with more than 30 team members, most of whom have been with us for four or more years. Our growth reflects the trust our community places in us and the strong, supportive culture we’ve built.
Through our unique blend of eastern and western medicine, innovative hospital design, exclusive focus on pet parents, expanded services such as grooming, strong community outreach, and award-winning professionals, we are transforming the pet healthcare experience.
We are currently seeking two full-time associate veterinarians to join our team. New graduates are welcome, and we are deeply committed to supporting a healthy work-life balance.
At Passionate Paws, you’ll experience:
High-quality medicine, not high volume: Regular appointments are 30 minutes, and all new client appointments are one hour. No “walk-ins,” ensuring you have the time to provide exceptional care.
Engaged pet parents: Our clients trust us to perform full workups and pursue comprehensive care.
Long-term team stability: Our medical staff is experienced, supportive, and dedicated to collaboration and mutual respect.
State-of-the-art facilities: We offer an in-house laboratory, ultrasound, therapeutic laser, digital dental radiography, and full-body digital radiography. In addition, we are expanding our Waxhaw location with a brand-new surgical suite, dental suite, and a dedicated surgical treatment room.
Who We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a veterinarian who wants to grow with us long-term. The ideal candidate values client education and embraces a Fear Free approach to patient care (we’ll help get you certified if you’re not already). Interest or certification in acupuncture, chiropractic, physical therapy, or other integrative modalities is a strong plus. Most importantly, we want someone who cares deeply about building lasting relationships with both pets and pet parents. For new graduates, we’ll be more than happy to discuss your ideal mentorship style so we can support you in the way you learn best.
Compensation & Benefits include, but are not limited to:
Competitive salary (not pro-sal), commensurate with experience
15 vacation days plus 5 sick days plus 5 personal days plus 5 days of continuing education — a total of 30 paid days off each year
CE reimbursement
Uniform allowance
No after-hours or weekend responsibilities
100% paid short-term and long-term disability
Association dues and licensure covered
50% of health insurance premiums covered; voluntary dental and vision; HSA plan
Simple IRA available after one year
If you’re looking for a forward-thinking practice where you can grow, feel supported, and make a meaningful difference, we’d love to hear from you.
