Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate veterinarian to join our thriving practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in veterinary medicine, with a focus on providing high-quality care to dogs and cats. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with staff and pet owners, and a commitment to animal welfare. The veterinarian will be responsible for diagnosing and treating medical conditions, performing surgeries, and educating pet owners on proper animal care.
About the Practice:
We are a long-standing, PRIVATELY-OWNED Veterinary Practice located in Chula Vista, California, in San Diego County.
Opportunity for a veterinarian to join an established single-doctor practice
Flexible schedule, with rotating limited hours on Saturdays and no Sundays
$10,000 signing bonus
Forward-thinking, evidence-based medicine with a focus on evolving technologies and staff continuing education
Doctors to nurse ratio of 1:6
30 minutes appointments
Telehealth consultations available
Nurse appointments (under veterinarian supervision) for common problems, allowing the doctor to focus on more complicated exams
Technology; lab/digital x-rays/digital dental x-rays/ultrasound/advanced surgical equipment
Duties
Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose medical conditions.
Perform surgical procedures with precision and care.
Utilize veterinary terminology effectively in communication with staff and clients.
Maintain accurate medical records for each animal treated.
Provide guidance on animal husbandry, nutrition, and general care to pet owners.
Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure optimal patient care.
Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine through continuous education and training.
Requirements
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
Valid veterinary license to practice in California
Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary terminology.
Previous experience in animal care or veterinary practice is highly desirable.
Understanding of laboratory procedures related to veterinary diagnostics.
