We are Family Practice for Pets, with two privately held and managed practices located in NE San Antonio. Kitty Hawk Animal Hospital, located in Universal City, first opened its doors in 1985, and we added our second hospital located in Cibolo, Turning Stone Animal Hospital, in 2020 to accommodate our growing number of loyal clients. Both locations are within 10 minutes of Randolph Airforce Base, approximately 30 minutes to downtown San Antonio, and 1 hour from Austin. We are looking to add an associate to our team of doctors who has a strong desire to learn in a collaborative setting where each voice has the opportunity to make a difference. With a collective 150+ years of veterinary experience between our Doctors, our hospitals also offer a very thorough and well-rounded mentorship program.
As privately-owned hospitals, we strive to provide for our Doctors a lifetime of continuous development, with no corporate handcuffs to keep you from applying your growing bank of knowledge and skills. We want our Doctors to work in a setting where the support staff sees your success as their main job every day. With a full-time Director of Training and Development on staff, daily rounds, weekly doctors meetings and countless lunch and learns, we think of ourselves as teaching hospitals where personal growth is the rule and not the exception. Additionally, our doctors meet on a weekly basis to discuss unique case-findings, industry trends, and best practice standards for our hospitals. We utilize our relationship with other VMG hospitals to ensure we are in step with best practices for medical and business standards, while also being outliers in how we care for the people on our team and community.
Our exam rooms are supported by an average of 3 personnel per doctor, with an additional treatment support team for any services that need to be performed outside of the exam room. We offer a robust menu of in-house diagnostics and therapeutics, as well as perform most orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries in house. We utilize third party specialists when appropriate, who oftentimes perform their services onsite.
