About Pets AlivePets Alive is a nonprofit, high-volume spay/neuter clinic dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation and increasing access to care for underserved communities. In 2025 alone, our team performed over 8,900 surgeries, providing essential services to families across Indiana and surrounding states.Our work is fast-paced, efficient, and mission-driven—focused on keeping pets in homes and out of shelters.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a Veterinarian who is passionate about community medicine, surgical care, and team development.This role offers the opportunity to focus on high-quality, high-volume surgery and preventive care, without the demands of traditional general practice. The ideal candidate is comfortable working efficiently, values consistency, and is committed to mentoring support staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-volume spay and neuter surgeries with strong surgical outcomes
- Participate in low-cost vaccine and preventive care clinics
- Oversee anesthesia protocols and ensure patient safety
- Maintain accurate and compliant medical records
- Mentor and train veterinary assistants in surgical prep, patient care, and workflow
- Collaborate with leadership to maintain efficient clinic operations
Qualifications
- DVM or equivalent degree required
- Active Indiana veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
- Experience in high-volume spay/neuter preferred, but not required
- Strong surgical and clinical judgment
- Ability to work effectively in a structured, team-oriented environment
- Interest in teaching and developing support staff
Compensation & Schedule
- $120,000 – $160,000 annually, based on experience
- Monday–Thursday schedule, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- No weekends, no after-hours emergency care
Additional Incentives
- Sign-on bonus available (based on experience and commitment)
- Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
