Position Overview

We are seeking a Veterinarian who is passionate about community medicine, surgical care, and team development.

This role offers the opportunity to focus on high-quality, high-volume surgery and preventive care, without the demands of traditional general practice. The ideal candidate is comfortable working efficiently, values consistency, and is committed to mentoring support staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-volume spay and neuter surgeries with strong surgical outcomes
• Participate in low-cost vaccine and preventive care clinics
• Oversee anesthesia protocols and ensure patient safety
• Maintain accurate and compliant medical records
• Mentor and train veterinary assistants in surgical prep, patient care, and workflow
• Collaborate with leadership to maintain efficient clinic operations

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree required
• Active Indiana veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
• Experience in high-volume spay/neuter preferred, but not required
• Strong surgical and clinical judgment
• Ability to work effectively in a structured, team-oriented environment
• Interest in teaching and developing support staff

Compensation & Schedule

• $120,000 – $160,000 annually, based on experience
• Monday–Thursday schedule, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• No weekends, no after-hours emergency care

Work Environment

Pets Alive operates as a high-volume surgical clinic, typically performing 20–40+ procedures per day depending on staffing and schedule. The environment is team-based, efficient, and focused on delivering high-quality care at scale.
